A COMPARATIVE STUDY OF EFFICACY AND SAFETY OF AZILSARTAN 40MG AND TELMISARTAN 40MG IN STAGE I HYPERTENSIVE PATIENTS ATTENDING CARDIAC OPD AT TERTIARY CARE HOSPITAL

Objective: To study the efficacy and safety profile of Telmisartan 40 mg Azilsartan in stage I systemic Hypertension among patients attending cardiac OPD a tertiary care center. Methods: An open-labeled comparative was conducted Department Cardiology, Osmania General Hospital, Hyderabad, for 24 mo. All with hypertension either sex, aged 18-65 y, blood pressures >140/90 mmHg and/or diabetes mellitus outpatient department at Hospital. After initial screening, diagnosed cases essential were randomly allocated to group 1 (Tablet or 2 mg). The advised report follow-up review on 4th, 8th, 12th, 24th week. Results: mean decrease systolic pressure both groups statistically significant P value of<0.05 8th week, 12th end diastolic 0.01 difference between SBP DBP various intervals is an Anova of<0.0000001. Conclusion: Both drugs controlled similar proportions. However, lower than Group. tolerated well, no adverse effects noted during study.
